Busy But VERY fun weekend with our girls!
On Saturday morning we got up early and headed over to Cocoa beach to meet Jennifer and her family. Cocoa beach is our favorite beach in florida and it is even better when we can spend time with good friends. We had a wonderfull time playing on the beach and having dinner. Jennifer has been my best friend since the eighth grade and I love it that our kids love each other so much and can grow up together. It seems that our lives get so busy that we run out of time so I treasure days like this. After having a wonderfull day and evening with them we were off again on Sunday morning to meet our dear friends the Pipers. We traveled to China with them and have grown to be great friends, we even hope to visit them in Maine when they go back for the winter. It was such a wonderfull weekend, the kind that make it hard to come back to reality.

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY THE CALL OF A LIFETIME
One year ago today after more than two years of waiting we got the CALL! I will never in my life forget that day, it was a Monday and the kids had the day off of school. We decided that since they were home from school we would go and get out shots for the trip to China. We all got up early and headed to the nearest health department that could do the shots we needs, it happened to be an hour away (the kids were thrilled to get up at 6:30 on a non school day). After waiting for HOURS we were finally done around noon and headed out to lunch. We got home around two o'clock and I immediately checked my e-mail and there was the e-mail we had been waiting years for "The Stork is on it way to Great Wall will referrals for the 10-26-05 LID". Then about a half hour later I got another e-mail " The Stork has landed at Great Wall" the email said that they received our referral. Wow today was the day we would finally get to see her face. I can remember the next hour being torture waiting for the phone to ring and at 3:17 pm it rang and the voice on the other end said Mrs. McCall this is Kimber from Great Wall I am calling to let you know ITS A GIRL! KImber was so nice and gave us all the info she had readily available during the call and then we had to wait for the e-mail with her picture. After waiting more than two years you would think another hour wouldnt kill ya, well it can be agonizing. When i finaly got the e-mail and open her picture it was love at first sight this little girl who had grown in my heart for all of this time finally had a face and it was beautiful.

SHE WAS LIVING IN THE ZHUZHOU SOCIAL WELFARE INSTITUTE IN HUNAN, CHINA
SHE WAS HEALTHY WEIGHING 16 1/2 LBS AND 27 1/2 INCHES LONG
THEY TOLD US SHE COULD WALK WITH HELP, LIKES TO SCRIBBLE, COPIES WORDS SHE HEARS, KNOWS WHAT NO MEANS, ALWAYS SMILES, LIKES BOOKS AND MUSIC AND SHE WAS CLOSE TO HER CARETAKER
SHE IS PERFECT! THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT ABOUT XIAO SHENG DUO
